W A T E R
Deionized Water. Water, a solvent and moisturizer,
is the most common cosmetic ingredient. The deionizing process
removes metallic irons, kills microorganisms through exposure
to ultraviolet light, and uses a sub-micron filter to further
remove impurities.
O I L S
Borage Oil. Rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins,
and minerals. Calming and anti-inflammatory, borage oil is
regenerative, slows the aging process, and is good for all
skin types.
Hazelnut
Oil. Contains vitamins, minerals, and protein, and is
very easily absorbed, leaving no oily residue. An excellent
carrier for essential oils, hazelnut oil is slightly astringent
and toning, and helps to maintain skin elasticity; has a soft,
natural, nutty fragrance.
Jojoba
Oil. Made from the bean of an evergreen bush native to
the Southwest. Closely resembles skinıs natural oils; contains
protein and minerals, and is good for all skin types, to soothe,
soften, nourish and protect. Jojoba oil is light and easily
absorbed; helps prevent stretch marks.
Olive
Oil. Rich in vitamins and minerals; contains some protein.
Olive oil is stable, resists rancidity and has excellent lubricating
qualities. Nourishing and calming to the skin, it is believed
to have cell-regenerative capabilities.
Rose
Hip Seed Oil. Extracted from the seed of a South American
wild rose, the oil has been used for centuries for healing
and skin care. Contains linolenic acid and a form of vitamin
A which helps slow skinıs aging. Smooths fine lines and wrinkles;
has been used to treat skin pigmentation disorders, scars
and sunburn.
Safflower
Oil. A nutritive oil high in polyunsaturated fatty acids.
Soothes bruises and irritations, and is easily absorbed into
the skin.
Sesame
Oil. Pressed from the sesame seed; rich in vitamins and
minerals. Contains some proteins and lecithin, and may help
protect the skin from sun.
Sunflower
Seed Oil. Rich in linoleic acid (an essential fatty acid);
vitamins A, B, D, and E; minerals; and lecithin. Sunflower
seed oil has a light texture and fragrance, is easily absorbed,
and soothes, softens and protects all skin types.

Lavender (Lavendula vera). Invaluable for all
types of skin. Soothing, anti-inflammatory, regenerative,
and reduces scarring. Lavender is uplifting and relaxing.

(Citrus limonun). Cooling, refreshing, and uplifting;
lemon promotes mental clarity and improves concentration.
Has antibacterial properties, fights infection, and softens,
tones, and soothes the skin.

Mandarin
(Citrus reticulata). Cooling, calming, and purifying;
mandarin is uplifting, relieves emotional tension and stress,
and promotes mental clarity.
Neroli
(Citrus bigaradia). Known for its rejuvenating properties
and its ability to stimulate new cell growth and soften the
skin; calming.
Orange
(Citrus aurantium). Has a balancing effect on the skin
and supports collagen production. Calming, softening, and
moisturizing; promotes happiness.
Petitgrain
(Citrus aurantium). Has a fresh, floral-citrus scent.
Petitgrain is uplifting, calming, promotes mental clarity,
and relieves anxiety and tension; soothing to the skin.
Rose
(Rosa damascena). Especially good for dry, sensitive,
or mature skins. Antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, with a
deep, sweet floral fragrance that has been treasured throughout
time.
Sandalwood
(Santalum album). Has a calming, balancing effect and
is good for all skin types, with moisturizing, soothing and
softening qualities; relieves itching and irritation. Comforting
and relaxing.
Ylang-Ylang
(Cananga odorata). Suitable for all skin types, ylang-ylang
balances, moisturizes, softens, smoothes and rejuvenates.

Algae Extract. Rich in vitamins and minerals; conditions
and hydrates the skin while it nourishes, rejuvenates, detoxifies,
and replenishes minerals.
Calendula
Extract (Calendula officinalis). Soothes, reduces
inflammation, helps prevent scarring, and promotes healing.
One of the most gentle and effective herbs for healing skin
irritations.
Cucumber
Extract (Cucumis sativus). Soothing and cooling,
with slight astringent properties. Rich in beneficial minerals
and amino acids, cucumber moisturizes, smoothes, and softens

Green
Tea Extract (Thea sinensis). Anti-inflammatory,

Oat

Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C). Used for its antioxidant

Ascorbyl
palmitate (Vitamin C). Also a form of Vitamin C with antioxidant

Panthenol
(Pro-vitamin B-5). Used to moisturize the skin; soothing,
nourishing, aids in tissue repair and cellular regeneration.
Retinyl
palmitate (Vitamin A). Helps tissue generation, repair,
and maintenance; deters dryness and has antioxidant properties.
Supports collagen production and increases the skinıs elasticity.
Tocopheryl
Acetate (Vitamin E). Antioxidant and moisturizing qualities.
Vitamin E slows the degeneration of skin cells, and promotes

Allantoin.
Derived from the comfrey plant, allantoin is especially helpful
for sensitive skin; it protects, softens, and soothes, with

Aloe
Vera Gel. Transparent gel from the leaves of the tropical
Aloe vera plant; promotes healing and cellular renewal.
Soothing, moisturizing, toning for all skin types, antibacterial,
and anti-inflammatory.
Beeswax.
A natural substance obtained from beesı honeycombs. As a thickener
and emulsifier commonly found in salves and lotions, beeswax
reduces inflammation, softens skin, and has antioxidant properties.
Rose
Water. Through the distillation process, roses produce
both essential oil of rose and rose hydrosol, or rose water.
Gentle, soothing, balancing, and harmonizing for the skin;
especially good for sensitive skin.
Shea
Butter. Also known as karite, shea butter is extracted
from the fruit of a tree found in Africa. Rich in essential
fatty acids and vitamins A and E, shea butter heals, soothes,
and protects the skin from environmental damage. Safe for
even sensitive, fragile skin, it is a superb, easily absorbed
emollient.
Sodium
Bicarbonate. A salt used as a buffering agent; soothes,
softens and smooths skin.
Sodium
Chloride. A mineral salt, commonly known as table salt,
with natural astringent and antiseptic properties. Refreshes
the skin.
Sodium
hydroxymethylglycinate. A preservative (necessary for
water-based cosmetics) derived from the amino acid glycine.
Sodium
Sulfate. A naturally occurring mineral salt.
Squalane.
Derived from olives, squalane is especially good for dry and
sensitive skin; helps accelerate new cell growth and leaves
skin soft and smooth as it helps to retain moisture.
Vegetable
Glycerin. A natural humectant, or product which attracts
and holds moisture; used in cosmetics to relieve dryness.
Xanthan
Gum. A natural thickener and skin soother derived from
the fermentation of a carbohydrate with Xanthomonas campestris.
